What if you could have a Pregnancy Bestie?

Pregnancy Bestie Doula Consulting

The definition of a Pregnancy Bestie is a person who is your Best Friend and advocate during your pregnancy. Someone who is consistently  there for you throughout your journey. Someone who you can confide in with your questions, wishes and fears. A Pregnancy Bestie is the first person you call when you have a setback, or lack confidence in something during your pregnancy.  But most importantly, a Pregnancy Bestie is your most unbiased, non-Judgmental, and patient supporter, to carry you through to the very end.

Clients’ Stories

Gerona Family

"Recently, my husband and I were fortunate enough to secure the services of Lisa Marandy as our doula. We sought out a doula for the birth of our first child being we were both inexperienced and my sister, who gave birth 5 months before, loved her doula. Like many doulas, Lisa was a wealth of information on resources for everything from reading materials, positions, pain management and much more. Beyond that, my favorite part of having Lisa on “my team” was that she allowed us to have the exact birth experience we were anticipating - allowed for freedom and flexibility based both on our birth plan and relaxed yet “let’s do this” attitude that suited our family. When the day came, she was a trooper in my nearly 32 hours of labor, and not once did she take a break! Thanks to her encouragement and support to both myself and my husband, I am so grateful to have had her there to witness and take an active role in one of the best days of our lives (and Parker’s). I highly recommend her services to any family or mother in need of such an invaluable support person. Please do not hesitate to contact me if further information is required."

"My experience with Lisa as my Doula was nothing but wonderful. From the get go she was very professional and supportive. I felt like she came very well prepared to our initial meeting and asked questions I hadn’t thought of, and I am a doula myself so that says a lot. During my labor and birth she was very attentive to my needs and stayed by my side the entire time. She advocated for me when needed, and worked well with my birth team. I felt 100% safe and supported and would hire her again."

Lisa was truly heaven sent and indeed my pregnancy bestie. Being 30 years old, single, and pregnant for the first time was extremely scary to say the least. Not to mention the fact that I’ve always had a labor phobia. When I met Lisa through a mutual friend I had no idea what a doula was but after speaking to her for less than 5 minutes I was convinced that she would play a large role in providing the comfort and support that I needed to have the best experience possible. Lisa supported me from early in my pregnancy through labor and postpartum. She was always available any time, day or night, whether I had questions, fears, or just wanted to talk. Navigating the different phases of pregnancy can be overwhelming but her planning, organization, consistency and accountability helped me prepare with confidence. In addition, she served as a wealth of knowledge and educated me on important information as well as helped me explore options including pain meds, epidural, placenta encapsulation, and informed me of the many options available to me that I wouldn’t have otherwise been privy to if it weren’t for her expertise. Knowing that I had an advocate with my best interest at heart who would keep the hospital staff on task and communicate on my behalf was an invaluable asset. Looking back at  41 weeks of pregnancy, being 11 days overdue, induced for 2.5 days and resulting in a Cesarion under general anesthesia, I can honestly say that there’s no way I could have had such a wonderful pregnancy and labor experience without her by my side. Other than my new bundle of joy, born on Valentines Day 2019, Lisa is the newest addition to our family and I will forever be grateful to have had her hold my hand every step of the way.

Your pregnancy Bestie

For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with the birth process. I see pregnancy, birth, and the growth of a family as one of the most rewarding things humans have the opportunity to experience.

As a Labor Support Specialist, I am privileged to help future parents make these experiences as positive and healthy as possible. I am proud to have received my certification and be able to provide my support to families across the Los Angeles area. However, I am so passionate about the labor process, that I have traveled long distances, to be there with a mother in need of my support.

Every family is unique, so I offer a variety of doula services, personalized for each birthing experience. Regardless of what you choose, we will dive into your beliefs and expectations around labor and birth. Together, we will explore your physical and emotional strengths, along with any limitations, to ensure you’re completely prepared. My number one priority is to exceed your expectations, and to make sure that you look back at this experience with fond memories.

I look forward to meeting you and becoming your Pregnancy Bestie..
